Call to Worship

One:    For God so loves the world;

Many:  To have and to hold,            

    for better or for worse,

    in sickness and in health.

One:    For God so loves the world;

Many:  Enough to turn winter into spring,

             depression into delight,

             a cross into a tree of life.

One:     For God so loves the world;

Many:   Enough to turn violence into love.

              sorrow into joy,

              death into life.

One:     Come, let us worship a God who loves this world!

Benediction

Friends, hold fast to this good news:

the cross is being transformed into the Tree of Life because:

somewhere someone is kind when others are unkind,

somewhere someone shares with another in need,

somewhere someone refuses to hate,

somewhere someone is patient,

somewhere someone returns good for evil,

somewhere someone is born from above.

Hold fast to this good news:

God is always somewhere

Working through someone.

Go now in peace…
