summer list
I was sitting on our new porch last night (Jonah, Maggie, Matt, and I have just moved to Indianapolis where Matt has accepted a position at Christian Theological Seminary), watching my children chasing fireflies, when it hit me: the summer is almost over!
So, after bathing, brushing teeth, reading books, and praying, I made a quick list of everything I want to do before it ends.
Here’s my list:
+ Make the sun prints I’ve had in my dresser drawer for the last four years.
+ Make more art with my children, and use more glitter.
+ Have a campfire, roast marshmallows, tell stories, and sing songs.
+ Host a neighborhood happy hour, complete with lemonade and margaritas.
+ See a play.
+ Go to the state fair and try a deep-fried Twinkie (I know, I know!).
+ Pray more, rest more, serve more, run more, love more, hope more, dream more, and drink more deeply from the grace of God all around.
So, what do you want to do before the summer comes to an end? Share your list below, and we’ll encourage each other to savor these last sweet summer moments...

Matt Coats, thanks for this shot so full of sky and summer joy!
